Malaysia’s Immigration Department has highlighted its experience in border management and travel document security through participation in an international program focused on strengthening document integrity and combating fraud.
The department joined the FIELDS Quick Check Card Production Onboarding Session, held from June 23 to 25 in Warsaw, Poland. The program is jointly organized by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The event brought together document security and immigration experts from multiple countries to discuss emerging challenges related to travel document protection and cross-border fraud prevention.
During the program, Lokman Effendi Ramli, Deputy Director-General of Immigration (Operations) of Malaysia and Acting Chair of the ANDEX Network, delivered opening remarks at the event — a role Malaysian authorities described as reflecting international recognition of the country’s expertise in document security and border control.
The session also served as a platform for participating countries and agencies to exchange experiences, share best practices and explore strategic approaches to addressing increasingly complex cross-border security challenges.
Malaysia’s Immigration Department said its continued engagement in international cooperation demonstrates the country’s commitment to strengthening the integrity of travel documents, enhancing border security and safeguarding public interests and national well-being.
