Malaysian immigration authorities have arrested a Pakistani national for allegedly posing as a doctor and operating an illegal private clinic in Selangor.

The suspect was detained during a special operation in Subang Bestari on June 25 after a month-long intelligence-led investigation by the Immigration Department’s Intelligence and Special Operations Division in Putrajaya.

According to the department, the man failed to produce valid immigration documents or a legal pass to remain in Malaysia.

Authorities seized medical equipment, clinic and personal stamps, an electronic tablet, financial records, an Annual Practising Certificate (APC), and other company-related documents during the raid.

Preliminary investigations found that the clinic was being run illegally by the foreign national, who allegedly used another person’s medical identity and professional credentials to deceive patients.

Investigators also alleged that medical certificates were issued without conducting health examinations, with patients charged RM20 for each certificate. The illegal operation is believed to have been running for about eight months.

The case is being investigated under Malaysia’s immigration laws, while a Malaysian woman has been summoned to assist with the investigation.

The Immigration Department said it would continue cracking down on illegal activities that threaten public safety and national interests.
