Malaysia’s Immigration Department (JIM) has arrested 32 foreign nationals, including Bangladeshis, during a drone-assisted enforcement operation targeting undocumented migrants in Taman Kinrara, Puchong.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), involved 46 Immigration officers and seven KPDN personnel.

Authorities said the operation focused on identifying foreign nationals staying in the country without valid documents or violating the conditions of their visas and passes.

During the raid, several individuals attempted to flee, but officers used drone surveillance to track their movements and apprehend them.

A total of 117 individuals at 18 business premises were screened, leading to the arrest of 32 foreign nationals from Myanmar, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Those detained are between 22 and 43 years old.

According to the authorities, the detainees are suspected of offences including staying in Malaysia without valid travel documents, overstaying and breaching immigration regulations.

The arrested individuals have been taken to an immigration detention depot for further legal proceedings.

Malaysia’s Immigration Department said enforcement operations against illegal immigration, overstaying and visa misuse will continue as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance with the country’s immigration laws.
