Former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has expressed concern over ongoing wars, political instability and a series of decisions by governments and world leaders that he said are contributing to growing global turmoil.

Referring to the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, Mahathir said thousands of people have been killed, cities destroyed and enormous resources lost. However, he said the international community has yet to play an effective role in bringing the conflicts to an end.

Mahathir strongly criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza, saying Palestinians are continuing to struggle to maintain a sense of normal life despite widespread destruction. Some are organizing sporting activities, while others are trying to earn a living by keeping shops and small businesses operating, he said.

He also voiced concern over the Russia-Ukraine war, saying ordinary people are paying the highest price for the conflict. Despite continued loss of life and widespread destruction, he said there is still no clear path toward ending the war.

The former Malaysian leader also commented on political developments in several countries, expressing concern over the arrest of elected leaders, political killings and various military attacks.

Mahathir said the world is witnessing so many unusual and troubling developments that it is becoming increasingly difficult to comment on all of them.
