Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has met three prominent Islamic scholars currently visiting Malaysia, using the opportunity to seek their advice and prayers while expressing appreciation for their contribution to Islamic scholarship.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said he visited Nasyrul Quran amid his busy schedule to meet Egyptian hadith scholar Al-Fadhil Al-Allamah Al-Muhaddith Sheikh Dr Mustafa al-Nadwi Al-Hasani, renowned Quran reciter Sheikh Dr Ahmad Isa Al-Ma’sarawy, and Grand Custodian of the Waqf of the Mosque and Maqam of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani, Al-Fadhil Sheikh Maulana Al-Sayyid Afeefuddin Al-Jailani.

“Alhamdulillah wa syukrulillah,” Anwar said, describing the meeting as an opportunity to exchange greetings, seek advice and prayers, and acknowledge the scholars’ presence in Malaysia to share knowledge and wisdom.

He said the visit by the scholars would help strengthen Islamic teachings and promote greater appreciation of knowledge and religious values in the country.

“May the visit of these scholars be a means for increasing knowledge, blessings and love for the religion, while strengthening our efforts to build a society that is virtuous, knowledgeable and lives in harmony, insya-Allah,” he said.

The meeting also underscored Malaysia’s efforts to promote the values of knowledge, ethics and moderation under the Malaysia MADANI framework.
