Around 10,000 overseas job opportunities are being made available to Malaysians through a work-based learning (WBL) programme that allows participants to work while pursuing higher education.

The initiative, developed in partnership with employers and international education institutions in Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and several European countries, aims to combine employment with academic advancement and international work experience.

SNT Group (M) Sdn. Bhd. Chairman Professor Datuk Seri Dr. Azizul Rahim Syed said his organisation was coordinating the initiative with global employers and education providers.

He said the programme would give Malaysians an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience overseas while obtaining internationally recognised academic qualifications.

The initiative also caters to experienced workers without formal academic qualifications through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway. Those with at least three years of work experience may be eligible for diploma-level qualifications, while individuals with five to 10 years of experience may be considered for degree programmes.

Azizul Rahim said the programme, supported by Malaysian and international higher education institutions, was aimed at improving the employability and global competitiveness of Malaysian workers.

He said the initiative would help more Malaysians secure better career prospects and higher-income opportunities in the global job market.
