Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has said a nation’s true progress should not be measured solely by economic success, technological advancement or towering infrastructure, but by its ethical foundation, human values, pursuit of knowledge and sense of social responsibility.

In a post on his social media account on Monday, Anwar said the world is currently facing multiple challenges, making it essential for Malaysia to learn from global experiences while charting its own future with confidence, professional competence and strong conviction.

He stressed that all government agencies must work together to further strengthen the country’s national institutions, saying such collective efforts would lay the foundation for building a stable, tolerant and dignified future.

Anwar also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to establishing a values-driven and responsible system of governance to support Malaysia’s long-term development and enhance the nation’s institutional strength.

He said fostering ethical leadership and reinforcing national values would remain central to the government’s efforts to ensure sustainable progress and a stronger future for the country.
