A total of 4,257 personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), or 36.3 percent of eligible early voters in Johor, had cast their ballots by 10:30am on Tuesday in the state’s 16th election.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the early voting process was progressing smoothly at all 53 early voting centres set up across the state for police officers and personnel.

He said the final turnout for early voting would only be known after polling stations closed later in the day.

Ab Rahaman made the remarks after casting his vote at the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) in Johor Bahru.

Early voting is being held ahead of the main polling day to allow eligible security personnel to exercise their democratic right while ensuring uninterrupted public security and the smooth conduct of election-related duties.
