Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national security and public safety during a royal gala dinner marking the 219th Police Day.
Held at Sunway Resort Hotel in Subang Jaya on Thursday, the event was attended by Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Deputy Home Minister Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and senior government officials.
The presence of Malaysia’s King, Sultan Ibrahim, highlighted the nation’s recognition of the dedication and sacrifices of the Royal Malaysia Police. Inspector-General of Police Mohd Khalid Ismail said the King’s attendance would further inspire officers to serve with integrity, professionalism and courage.
The ceremony also honoured police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and reaffirmed the force’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities to address evolving security challenges and safeguard the country’s peace and sovereignty.
Around 400 senior police officers attended the event, which featured performances by the police orchestra and a documentary on the Johor royal family’s contributions to the development of modern policing in Malaysia.
