Economy Minister YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir received a courtesy visit from the Director-General of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), YDH CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, to discuss the agency’s proposed development budget for 2027.

The discussion focused on development needs aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s border management and control through enhanced infrastructure, greater use of technology, strategic asset development and increased operational capacity.

These measures are intended to strengthen national border security while ensuring the smooth and well-regulated flow of cross-border trade.

The Ministry of Economy acknowledged that structured development planning to enhance AKPS’ capabilities would support smoother trade, improve the efficiency of the country’s entry points and strengthen border security.

The ministry also said the planned development would contribute to Malaysia’s economic growth by supporting a more resilient and sustainable economy.
