Malaysia and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral security cooperation through the International Think Tank on Peace (ITOP), a strategic platform aimed at promoting dialogue, policy exchange and collaborative solutions to contemporary security challenges.

The commitment was highlighted during high-level engagements involving representatives from both countries, where discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in areas including defence, counterterrorism, regional stability and strategic policy development.

Malaysia emphasised the importance of multilateral platforms such as ITOP in fostering greater understanding and cooperation among nations facing increasingly complex security threats.

Both sides acknowledged the long-standing friendship between Malaysia and Pakistan and expressed confidence that deeper engagement under the ITOP initiative would further strengthen strategic ties and contribute to regional peace and security.

The two countries also underscored the need for continued exchange of expertise, knowledge-sharing and closer institutional collaboration to address evolving global security dynamics.
